We are trying to get parts together for a timing belt change on our 1992 Transporter 2.4 diesel AAB, body type 70x0B, but I'm having an extremely difficult time finding them . I bought a 2.4 T4 earlier on in the year to convert. It ran fine on the 60 miles home and I was well chuffed. I put it in for new cambelts,, an apparently £300 job. But they found more and more wrong with it and it ended up costing me £1200 Then the gearbox began making nasty noises.

2.4 AAB fuel pump drive belt tensioning. Hi folks. Cambelt and waterpump changed along with 2 cam shaft seals and crank seal, gear and pulley. New fuel pump drive belt fitted, but feels a bit slack. Trying to locate bolts to slacken off to tension belt.

There is this old T4 van thats been standing for a while. It would be useful to have a van to haul stuff in. I don't have any, and all my buddies have nice vans, but this is just a beat up old piece of shit for carrying stuff to the dump and not worrying about denting it. It appears to be a 2.4 5-cylinder n/a diesel.
